2017 Wedding Season Kicking-off!

We are about to kick-off our 2017 wedding season this month!

I am thrilled to share the Donnaha Valley Farm views and experience with brides and grooms.  From casual to more elegant, we have them all this year and I cannot wait to share pictures of how the venue can accommodate all styles.

The farming aspect of DVF has slowed this year as we focused on upgrading amenities at the barn pavilion and most recently, the perennial and annual plantings for garden space near the event venue.  Devon (husband), Eric (FIL), Joanna (MIL), and I have all spent many hours preparing the space, putting a roof over the deck, building steps for easy access to grassy area, planting gorgeous plants, planning for butterfly-friendly annuals, digging up big rocks, watering, and entertaining a baby (and dog) too.  2018 will be the year of farming in a much bigger way - we cannot wait!

We are starting to think about expanding the business strategy for Donnaha Valley Farm to accommodate more than just special events.  Much planning and updating is going into this, however stay tuned.  I hope to have more to share on this through the summer months.

Also, we are looking at dates for a Fall open house, probably September or November considering October is extremely busy with weddings.  Looking forward to sharing our updates with the public!

Well, here we go!  The dream is now a reality and I appreciate you exploring our page.  What was only an idea one year ago, is fully underway.  The graders are wrapping up their portion of construction and the barn materials have been delivered!

It is so exciting to see this progress and know that perhaps next year at this time, we will be fully operational with educating the local Triad on the benefits of buying local and allowing people to enjoy the beautiful views that we have enjoyed day after day.  It's hard to believe that no one knew how beautiful the views are from what used to be referred to as "The Ridge" (and will probably continue to be) until 3 years ago!  You are truly looking into the heart of the Yadkin Valley.

I am continuing to add content to this website, so check back in for updates.  This business is definitely moving, but plenty ahead of us!   Thank you again for your interest and support!
